An independent charity that exists for all people living in rural areas, especially those at risk of isolation and/or disadvantage; building stronger and more inclusive communities across Sussex
An independent, locally-focused charity, led by the needs and aspirations of those in later life. Our vision is that East Sussex is a great place to grow older
Gives information, advice and support to families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and also supports young people with SEND up to age of 25
BHT Sussex is a housing association and a homeless charity. Our role is both to challenge the causes of homelessness, poverty and marginalisation, and to deal with the consequences.
Run by women for women, providing practical and specialist services for self-identifying women since 1974
Providing a range of services to help local carers, as well as giving information, support and advice, so that no one has to care alone
Providing confidential, impartial advice and campaigning on big issues affecting people’s lives. Our goal is to help everyone find a way forward, whatever the problem
Diversity Resource International
Helping people from migrant and culturally diverse communities access services; listening to our community’s changing needs and working with others to redesign processes and structures that lead to discrimination, abuse and intolerance
Listen to and enable communities to have their say and bring about positive change
A charity that supports blind and partially sighted people across East Sussex, Brighton and Hove
Hastings Advice and Representation Centre (HARC)
An independent charity providing free and confidential end-to-end welfare benefit specialist advice and representation
Hastings Community Network (HCN)
An overarching network comprising local voluntary, community and faith groups, networks and forums
An independent bereavement charity that provides information and guidance to help support children and young people through the death of a loved one
Enables adults and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to fulfil their work potential. Offers pre-employment training, work experience and routes into work through supported employment
Promoting and protecting the physical and mental health and wellbeing of women, children and their families at risk of harm and disadvantage, including those at risk of domestic abuse in all its forms, in East Sussex and the surrounding area
Supporting people to live independently without prejudice
Not-for-profit specialist provider of housing, care and support across Sussex since 1972
Sussex Community Development Association
SCDA has worked across Sussex since 1997, running community-based projects aimed at addressing the needs of those most vulnerable in the community
An independent charity that protects people’s rights, supporting them to have their voice heard
Helping people without a home by providing items to support basic needs, giving emotional support and preventing harm to health by signposting and referring to other services as necessary
Inspiring active lifestyles in the heart of the community, Wave helps people achieve health goals their way, with access to inclusive services across East Sussex that make it easy to put health and fitness first
Helping women take control of their lives by empowering them with the skills, confidence, and strength to step into who they aspire to be and help employers be the best they can be in creating an environment where women can thrive
And the three Voluntary Actions working across East Sussex:
Supporting charities and community groups in Wealden, Lewes District and Eastbourne
The infrastructure organisation for the VCSE sector in Hastings. It provides support to individuals and organisations and enables local groups to develop, network and work in partnership
Champions local individuals, voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations and supports them to fulfil their potential and make a difference in our community
Interested in joining The East Sussex VCSE Alliance
Additional organisations may join the Alliance at any time if they meet the following criteria:
- They are independently constituted community, voluntary or social enterprise organisations;
- They work to support beneficiaries and communities living across the county of East Sussex;
- They are willing to be an active participant in partnership activities of the Alliance and work with the Alliance-agreed principles of Collaborative working, Accountability and Generous leadership.
