The East Sussex Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise Alliance ‘Our Journey 12 months on’

The East Sussex VCSE Alliance are pleased to share ‘Our Journey – 12 months on’, a reflection on the work that has taken place in the last year.

The document provides a reminder about the Alliance: who we are, our purpose, vision and mission. It also provides an update on our work and highlights the three principles of collaboration, accountability and generous leadership that all members are committed to. These principles underpin our work in representing local people, our communities and our sector – to help change and improve life locally.

Our journey as an Alliance has involved challenging existing thinking; at the heart of the Alliance is a belief in the importance of ensuring the county’s c 3,500 voluntary organisations are not only recognised for their vital contribution, but as strategic and equal partners in the ‘system’ of East Sussex.

Our membership has continued to grow, and we continue to work together and with our partners in ways that were inconceivable just a few short years ago.

We’re collaborating to tackle issues such as loneliness, the cost-of-living crisis and health inequalities and, we believe, are changing lives because of this. We describe this work as well provide updates on governance activity.  

Finally, this document demonstrates how we’ve been able to influence at strategic levels across Sussex, to improve local health, care and wellbeing and ensure the best outcomes for the people of East Sussex. We’ve further developed trusting relationships and embedded our role as strategic partners for decision-making in our county.
