Joint Alliance response to modification to the East Sussex local government reorganisation proposal

East Sussex VCSE Alliance members responded to the second consultation concerning local government reorganisation in East Sussex. The Government is consulting on a modified version of the “One East Sussex” unitary proposal, which suggests transferring parts of the Lewes District (Peacehaven, Telscombe, East Saltdean, and Falmer parish) into an expanded Brighton and Hove.
Members strongly oppose this modification and remain in support of the original “One East Sussex” model, which, members believe, offers a more coherent, sustainable and locally supported framework for governance and service delivery.
